R17 (Deucaleon): Low cost bench-top 5-axis general purpose articulated robot arm
| R17 is a low cost entry to robotics, fast, accurate and reliable and easy to program. It has a long reach and therefore a larger and much more useful workspace than comparable machines. The mechanics are incredibly simple and phenomenally reliable, there being R17 Mk1s out there which have been running 3 shifts a day for ten years without failure, in fact we give a 2 year warranty. It is easy to apply and program yet is capable of the most intricate tasks. You'll find it a joy to use.
The Mk5 uses new light weight, high speed, high efficiency stepping motors with encoder feedback. The Mk5 package includes the new Mk5 controller which again is simple and reliable using a partnership of fast CPU and DSP processors and compact micro-stepping drives. Software is ROBOFORTH II which makes this robot really easy to get started with yet the most complex motions, interfaces and peripherals may be programmed, assisted by ROBWIN project manager which brings everything together on one screen. Everyone who uses this system agrees it is the most flexible robot software on the planet.

The R17 is a complete self-contained five axis vertically articulated robot arm system designed as a cost effective solution for processes requiring long reach or difficult access. Applications include paint spraying, deburring, handling.
The hand terminates in a mounting plate for grippers, spray guns etc.
All STI robot systems are programmed in
ROBOFORTH II, the most extensive robot programming language in the world.
R17 is supplied ready to run -- robot, controller, all cables, ROBWIN Windows project management software, on-screen manuals.
